La Prima Luna started as casuality; during the maturation of L’Ultima Luna in the tank, before going into the barrel, we realized how interesting and what was already the margins of evolution could have beer without aging in wood. So we decided to bottle the La Prima Luna, using the same basis of L’Ultima Luna. Of course, a barley wine of this caliber needs a lot of time in the bottle to harmonize, that is why we begin to bring out the bottles after at least 10 months of aging. The result is a beer less complex about L’Ultima Luna, where you do not feel the influence of the barrel and the wine it contained, the oxidations are just mentioned (while in the other case are exaggerated), but the beer is very more consistent with the style and gives great satisfaction to the lovers of the genre.
In the glass, at the nose and in the mouth …
Barley wine balanced and refined, matured in steel and then aged in the bottle for at least 10 months. Intense coppery colour with red reflections, at the nose is rich and complex, gives off aromas of caramel, jam and brandy cherries. The taste is warm, full-bodied and with slight carbonation.
